The City Partner Hotel “Alter Speicher” can call itself belonging to the higher gastronomy of Wismar. In cozily decorated rooms in storehouse style our guests will enjoy the ensemble of brass, natural wood, granite, exclusive cloths, dishes and furniture. In this surrounding it is easy to appreciate the Mecklenburg cuisine that comes without artificial and unnecessary bells and whistles.

The chef sets the focus on light food, regional specialties as well as the so called classics that often vanished out of the memory. The grand chefs of our century are his ideals. Already back then, the guest maybe knew better what was good, because they had and took the time for the beautiful things in life. So, on the constantly adapted menu you’ll find Wismarer Matjes herring as well as Châteaubriand – a small number but great variety of dishes, in best and fresh quality.

“We rather design a new menu every 6 weeks and adapt it to fresh and seasonal products, instead of always handling with the same food.” The specialty is still the festive menus; according to taste and financial possibilities we create beautiful arrangements for family celebrations, business meals, jubilees, etc. Who thinks that’s only about the food is wrong; there’s much more belonging to such an occasion, and we’ll prove it.

Furthermore, our guests can enjoy a weekly changing extra program additional to the constant food program. There’s also a tasty salad buffet.
